I agree with getting her gall bladder checked out. I am not going to pretend I know about anything else but I had severe lower back pain and pain around my ribs for 2 years. No doctors could "find" what was wrong with me. For some reason it mainly came at night and I'd have trouble breathing and pain for hours and I couldn't sleep. It lasted to the point where my father walked in on me popping a handful of painkillers one night because nothing worked..the hospital found that my gallbladder had swolen to the largest size they'd ever seen and was blocking my air duct. Good luck with your little girl. I wish you the best.
Hello,
Various possibilities are there for such symptoms. It can be due to hypertension,Gastroesophageal reflux disease(do you have heart burn and difficulty in swallowing), disorders involving the lung like Pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, pneumothorax, Mediastinal emphysema etc;cardiac diseases, lung cancer, thoracic outlet syndrome, pancreatitis, costochondritis, gall bladder disease, hiatal hernia and muscle pain.
Pls specify the side on which the pain is there so that I can help you in giving more specific differentials.
Going by the symptoms of nausea, vomiting and pain on breathing,it is giving the dianosis of acid reflux, gall bladder disease, hiatal hrnia and pleural diseases an edge.
Pls discuss these possibilities with your daughter’s doctor.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your daughter is doing or if you have any additional queries.
Is your daughter a child or an adult? What to do now would depend on what's been done and when. I would have expected as starters for bloodwork to have been done such as a Complete Blood count w/ Diff and a Chemistry Panel and maybe even a precautionary chest and/or abd x-ray. You didn't mention which side the pain goes around. If it goes from midback around the right to the front, that can be a symptoms of gallstones or a nonfunctioning gall bladder, the latter of which won't show up on an xray.
If it has been a while since she was seen, or if there has been a change in the severity of her pain, it may merit another visit. What are the doctors saying thusfar? Follow your mother instincts. Is she uncomfortable and generally miserable, or is she suffering in pain? Maybe a call to her doctor would be a good idea. Someone is usually on call.
