Like TheLightSeeker says there are numerous reasons for feeling dizzy and heavy.

Because the inner ear has the mechanism that controls balance, this is the reason your doctor has referred you to the ENT department.
With Meniere's disease you would more than likely feel like the room was spinning around a lot (this is an ear disease).

With you feeling heavy whilst walking - have you put any weight on.  Having feelings of heaviness could be related to being overweight or from spinal problems in the lower back. Feeling dizzy can also sometimes be from neck problems.  If you have ever been involved in any accident or play physical sports, that sometimes can get the neck bones out of alignment.

Your doctor has done the right thing in sending you to the ENT to rule out any ear problems.  If nothing wrong can be found with your ear mechanism, then no doubt the doctor may refer you for xrays on your neck and lower spine if you are experiencing problems with the heaviness in your legs.

Sometimes a virus can cause these symptoms and that can take quite a long time to settle down.  Sometimes no cause can be found, and you may be prescribed with anti-travel sickness medication (not the ones that you buy without a prescription) to settle down the dizziness.

Stress and anxiety can also cause sensations of dizziness.

Make sure that you have a healthy and well balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and drink plenty of fluids and especially water (keep off or limit your alcohol).  Cut down or cut out eating sugary and processed foods and fizzy drinks.  About 2 litres is usually recommended a day, but more if you sweat a lot.  Dehydration, as well as lack of sleep can also make you feel dizzy.

Let us know how you get on with the ENT.

Best wishes.

Hi chomex

Unfortunately far too many possibilities and not enough information to go by to give you an opinion.

Inner ear problems like Labyrinthitis ,Ménière's, ear infections....
Also Vertigo, certain medications, nutritional deficiencies, Vestibular neuronitis, low iron, hypoglycemia, dehydration, overheating, heart rhythm disorder, pulmonary hypertension and on and on.
There must be over 100 conditions associated with dizziness and heaviness symptoms.

I guess you have to wait for your ENT appointment to see if you get some answers.

Best wishes.
