elevated dheas and mood swings

by suesandiego, Feb 03, 2007 12:00AM
Just had a blood test because of thinning hair on my scalp along with facial hair.  Everything was normal except for a dheas level of 407.  I see a specialist next week but was wondering if anyone has had a blood test result like this and what it was caused by.  Also having mood swings, weight gain and always hungry.  I am a 46 year old female.  Have had a hysterectomy but still have one ovary.  (one ovary was taken out because of a large cyst)  Am thinking maybe polycystic ovary disease but the thought of an adrenal tumor is freaking me out.  Thanks

Hi
I know your post was over 2 years ago but I was wondering how things were.  Your situation sounds like mine except I am at the moment waiting to go into surgery to have a mass on my overy removed.
