extreme inner heat in pelvis

I recently had a episode where I was sitting down, and began to feel an intense heat in my pelvic region. It came on quite suddenly and I could feel my heartrate shoot up. I was scared out of my mind. Then the extreme inner heat not only stayed in my pelvis, it also started happening in my chest, and my chest felt like it was on fire. So now I have my pelvis and chest feeling like they are internally 500 degrees.. and then it moves to my armpits! I ended up going to the ER which did several EKGS and all came back normal so they say its not my heart! They also did bloodwork and told me it wasnt harmonal so its not hot flashes... any ideas?! (this has happened atleast 20 times in the past 3 weeks)

Thank you both for your comments...

While in the hospital, they ran tests on my thyroid, and those came back normal. When I asked them if this is what a hot flash felt like they said yes, it could feel like that but that all the tests they ran on my harmonal levels came back within normal range, so they said its most likely NOT perimenopause. I had a hysterectomy last October (so almost a year ago) but my overies were left in. Do you think this could be caused by extreme stress?

I Think you should not exclude hot flashes by only hormonal assay.

"Because of their extreme intraindividual variability, FSH and estradiol levels are imperfect diagnostic indicators of perimenopause in menstruating women. However, a low FSH in the early follicular phase (days 2–5) of the menstrual cycle is inconsistent with a diagnosis of perimenopause."
Harrison 2008 chapter 342

"In contrast to the consistently high FSH and low estradiol levels seen in menopause, perimenopause is characterized by "irregularly irregular" hormone levels"
Harrison 2008 chapter 342

"Hot flashes occur in up to 40% of regularly menstruating women in their forties" www.medicinenet.com

I think you should also have TSH test for thyroid function assesment.
thyrotoxicosis excacerbates hot flashes.

I think I could help you.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If the feeling of heat is not due to low estrogen or due to hyperthyroidism or due to imbalance in FSH, LH level, then the feeling of heat can be due to electrolyte imbalance. Underlying infection or inflammation in the body can result in the feeling of heat. It can also be due to acidity and dry vagina or due to acidity and vaginal infection.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
