Hi: I had a heller myotomy for achalasia where they put a hole in my esophogus which had to be repaired by pulling some of my stomach up. 3 months later I was anemic with a ferritn of 0. I took Iron and had colonoscopy and endoscopy and all was ok. With Iron supplements My hemoglobin went to 15 and ferritin to 25. I stopped the iron after 9 month and now 3 months later my ferritn dropped to 14 w/ normal serum iron and hemoglabin. I also take a low dose nexium in the morning. Lastly I had a celiac panel which was normal except yhr gliadin AB (IGA) was 18 normal is under 11. Could the surgery be causing Malabsorbtion, I never had anemia before, Thanks, oldnotes
