I’ve come down with a strange set of symptoms which includes pain behind both ears accompanied by a pinkish-red blotchy rash which extends across my forehead. There are no blisters, though in places the rash is very slightly raised. I have had mild fever and chills and fatigue for four days. I saw a doctor on day three of feeling ill, and other than ruling out shingles, he had no idea what I have. Antihistamines do not do anything. My doctor suggested I get tested for STDs, though I’m quite sure my rash is not an HIV rash. Do my symptoms match any known viruses or illnesses? Please advise. If nothing else I’d like to go back to the doctor better informed as to what to look for next.
