genital bug bite?

recently (last 2 days) i developed a rather large, red, itchy bump on the shaft of my penis and am wondering what it could be.  i have not had sex in a year, but the last (and first) time was with a bit of a... well let's just say she gets around.  i went camping recently (few days ago) and have bug bites on my hip and ankle. could the bump on my penis be a bug bite or something more serious? also, last week a tiny bump appeared at the base of my penis, but went away after a few days which led me to believe it to be a bug bite. any info will help.

Hi,

How are you?
It is very difficult to tell without examination. But from your post it seems to be a fungal infection or ringworm. Antifungal creams may provide relief.
Please get it examined by a dermatologist at the earliest. Take care!

hello there. no, there is no pain during urination or otherwise. the size of the bump has decreased a little since the other day and i'd hate to jinx myself but it appears to be healing.  i'll give it a day or two and see how it looks before seeking medical help. thank you for your time.

Hello,

It can be due to an insect/bug bite. Take some antihistaminic like benadryl or zyrtec.apply some cold compresses and it will be gone.

Does it pain?It can be a boil.Mostly boils are self treating;but if you have some sort of discharge or fever then it can be due to infection.Antibiotics have to be taken in such cases.

If the lump grows in size or does not go in a few days, pls consult a dermatologist to rule out herpes.

Take care and do keep us posted on how you are doing.
