Helga, you live in the UK.  The doctors surgery is NHS.  It does not matter what is on your medical history, you have the right to ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist consultant to the hospital which is nearest to where you live.  Sometimes, these days, you even get to choose which hospital you want to go to.

You have the right to tell your doctor your symptoms and he or she has to examine you.  With regard to your green stools you can ask the doctor to get a stool sample to be sent to the laboratory for analysis.

The doctors at the surgery have a legal obligation to take care of you and do what they can to get you well.  If they do not do this, you have the right to complain about their shortcomings and any negligence to the practice manager and also to the Health Authority if you are not happy with the Practice Manager's response.

The first step for you is to make an appointment to see a doctor.  Doctors come and go and there may be a new doctor at the surgery who may look at your problem from a different angle.  If you know the doctors at the practice and there is more than one, you can ask to see the doctor you choose.

Tackle the most bothersome problem that you have first.  Doctors these days do not like to be bombarded with more than one health issue.
Writing down a list with the worst problem at the top and giving that piece of paper to your doctor actually works.  He/she will sometimes ask if there is anything else.

You still can request your doctor to refer you for tests, consultants that specialise in your problem, or get blood work done.

I have had to do this myself, otherwise they keep giving you the same medications that you have been taking for years with no relief.
One doctor even thought that because I do not make an appointment to see a doctor about one of my issues, then things were fine, which is not the case.  I also have had to put forward to the doctor that I wanted a referral to a specialist which did happen.

If it helps you, as well as writing down the list to hand to your doctor, take someone with you for support.  That helps too.

I do hope that you see a doctor and get the medical help that you desperately need.

Best wishes.

Thanks Jemma116 i wish i could but from a small town with a local surgery so not much chance of seeing a doc without them knowing your meds history. Female doc passed me off for years and basiclly told me i was fridgid with my endo probs and i was lucky i saw a locum after my child was born who put me for tests otherwise that would have been left as well and passed off as ibs or just fridgid????

Although these people that you mention may have some good advice on their web site, I do not agree that you emphatically beg the poster not to see the medical profession.

In the UK we are not able to purchase unpasteurised milk, but drinking milk that has not been pasteurised could cause other problems and I would not recommend it.

IBS can be triggered off by foods, drinks and stress.  And it is important to keep a written diary of everything that you eat and drink to find out if it is caused by any specific food or drink to be able to eliminate from the diet to reduce the severe symptoms.

Severe symptoms listed by the poster and passing green slime needs urgent investigation by the medical profession. It may or may not be bile from the liver.  The stools need to be examined for bacterial infections.

I read your comments with much sympathy.  Please, please, please get away from the medical establishment and their poisonous drugs before they kill you.

For starters, look Google "natural remedies for IBS".  One of the sites you will be directed to is Mike Adam's Natural News site. Mike also has a radio network with lots of excellent natural-heath shows--one of which is Robert Scott Bell's show--excellent, excellent, host and guests.

You might want to start with taking 1 tablespoon of colloidial silver (get at health-food store or I get mine from Vitacost.com--much cheaper) and 1 tablespoon of organic aloe vera juice (also at Vitacost.com).  Take one after the other.

You also need to be taking a good probiotic at least 3 times a day and you should be eating raw cow or goat's milk (raw ONLY--not what you get in the stores) and a really, really good yogurt made from grass-fed cows or goats--NOT Yoplait or Dannon ior any of the other big commercial makers.

If you live on the west coast, there are tons of alternative doctors you can find.  In other parts of the country, not so prevalent, but the most important thing is to STOP going to the medical mafia.  They are killing you!

The green bile means your liver is totally OUT OF WHACK and being damaged further every day.

Go to Mike Adams, Natural News site, find Robert Scott Bell's show and others and listen to them.  Your very life depends on it, and there is absolutely nothing the medical profession can do for you, except make you sicker.

God Bless and good luck.

Book an appointment with a different doctor at your surgery.

Don't tell him what you have been diagnosed with, but do tell him your symptoms.  Ask if you can be referred to a specialist and also have your stools checked for parasites and especially Helicobacter Pylori - this is a bacteria that can cause some of the symptoms that you mention as well as cause stomach ulcers.

You also need to tell the doctor that the Gaviscon etc is not working.  There are other stomach remedies available that may be of more help, ask if you can be prescribed with Pantoprazole.

You need to request the doctor to refer you for the tests and to see a specialist.  If you are unwell, keep going back to see the doctor otherwise they will think you are fine.

Don't delay and book an appointment as soon as possible.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes.
