groin and leg pain

I have a periodic shooting pain from the groin area (Where a hernia would hurt),
which goes down the front of the leg. The pain occurs when I move my leg sideways, sometimes walking, but usually when I swing the leg as getting out of a car or sideways from a strait chair or moving on bed.
I am 66 and walk or jog for exercise, which has been curtailed.

Bowlhank:
A problem with the hip joint (ball and socket) might show up as groin pain.
My mom had a great deal of groin pain when she fractured her hip.
I bet your doctor could figure it out.

Take care,
Carol
