headache questions

I have headaches daily some so severe I believe to be migraines. I've been seeing a neurologist and he has put me on muscle relaxers 3 times/day and 50 mg of Pamelor at night. He's also prescribed me some medicine for headaches. I've had an MRI and that showed everything to be normal so I'm not concerned about tumors but I am concerned that this is alot of meds to be on! Does anyone else know about headaches and why he would've put me on all this? I have 3 small children and I work and feel tired and still having headaches!
