Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You will be surprised to know that stomach ulcers and severe acidity can result in hunger pangs. Even GERD presents with similar symptoms. At times the hunger pangs due to acidity wakes up a person in the wee hours of night. Omeprazole is a good drug to combat this. Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. However I would recommend you see a doctor and take medication under a doctor’s supervision. Avoid heavy meals and take frequent small ones. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Take a late night snack and keep lozenges or crackers beside to bed to be eaten when the pain starts.
Hunger can be controlled. Keep a diary of what you eat. Some food stuffs make you hungry earlier where as others do not. Remove all high calorie food items from your house. Keep healthy nutritious food, plenty of fiber rich food and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
The other possibility is diabetes, hyperthyroid states and worms in the gut. All can keep you hungry 24x7. If the above tips do not help, go to a walk in clinic to rule out the other conditions. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi i know this page is for UK but im sure you can use it too, try http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/CheckSymptoms you can explain what is wrong you might have to request a call back but its worth a shot to see if you can come up with the symptoms on you own, i hope you find the answers you need, maybe instead of seeing your doctor ask him you want a second opinion maybe from a hospital which your doctor can refer you good luck
