Kikuchi fujimoto disease or necrotising lymphadenopathy usually affects young females...cervical(neck) lymph nodes are affected..i got one case last year..on FNAC and HPE i saw extensive necrosis but without neutrophils...this disease does not have any cause and it has the clinical features as mentioned by poolparty...

Thank u very much!!!my husband was diagnosed with Fujimoto this year in may.did u really see another person with this disease?!can u please help us with more information?i looked up for everythin u can find on the internet, but our biggest problem is to find a doctor that is willing to help us.we have been seen by ove 8 doctors and they all say that not knowing the etiology of this disease they don't know who to recommend.
My husband has axilar lymph nodes (it was the biggest, and the one that was taken out for the byopsi), clavicular ones,on the lungs and between the lungs (mediastinal).it's been over 6 month and he had fever for 8 weeks.what shoul we do?could we consider a homeopat doctor, and a diet change?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease or technically called histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis is a rare non cancerous swelling of lymph nodes, seen mainly in Japan and it is still rarer in other parts of the world. Cause is not known and it is thought to be autoimmune. It presents with fever, headache, rash and lymph node enlargements. Other conditions mimicking this disease are disseminated tuberculosis, lymphoma, SLE, Sarcoidosis, and viral lymphadenitis. It can be differentiated from SLE as anti nuclear antibody, rheumatoid factor, APLA, and Anti-dsDNA are usually negative. However, biopsy is confirmatory. Disease is self limiting. No treatment is usually required except supportive for fever, headache and rash.
Hope this helps. Take care!

Consult a pathologist who can do biopsy for confirmation.
