This is a strange thing to have in a 26mo old. It isn't a standard test that ofc's run. Copper is a trace mineral & is in
many foods. Hi amts. are often found in vegetarians/vegans/high
carb diets. Reason is that hi copper interacts w/ zinc. Then
you are zinc deficient. This can cause fatigue/skin problems/
insomnia/yeast overgrowth in body. I'd call ofc & ck to see if zinc is normal. Another idea why Dr ck'd could be suspicion of
Wilson's mentioned. This is inherited through families generally
& is pretty easy to dx. Dr looks closly for a copper/golden
ring around eyes where copper deposits. Call ofc & ask for some info. If elevated copper, you must stop multi's w/ copper added
& consult someone abt diet to create balance. In Wilson's, the
liver function is also elevated. Bet this little guy isn't feeling to peppy & some can feel very ill. You need an answer
from ofc. Gd-luck.

Women who have an IUD that is copper will have this problem.  If you have one, check for the metal content.  If it is copper you may need to have it removed.

There is a very rare hereditary disease called Wilson's Disease that causes an accumulation of copper, though it doesn't usually show up enough to produce symptoms until age six.  But it's something to think about.
