Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
This is basically a test for parathyroid hormone, from parathyroid glands. This hormone is responsible for calcium metabolism among other things. Yes, one should fast for 10 hours before a hormonal test. Normal values of PTH (parathyroid hormone) usually range from 10-55 picograms per milliliter (pg/mL). Hence yours is on the higher side. Repeat the test if you did not get it fasting. If it is still high then calcium levels will need to be checked. Also you will need to consult an endocrine specialist. Take care!
