hot flashes

Good Evening people . Hope you're all doing well .

My dad is having hot flashes , he isn't on treatment for cancer or anything similar . he has cholesterol and he taking meds . he also takes aspirin for kids and some vitamins . he drinks but he also works out a lot . the thing is that he feels hot 2 times a day which bothers him a lot .

So what could be the problem ? what is the specialist doctor called for such cases  ? what kind of tests should be done ?

Apprecited ,

He may have Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome. A trial of testosterone replacement therapy would be worth while. He should do this without having his blood testosterone levels checked because they tell you very little.

Hello Boyka! I hope you are well. Like Sassy says above here I would go to a specialist here. In most cases when we think of hot flashes, we think about women. But believe or not men can also get hot flashes. Although not as common as women does, and also not by the same causes.

When men passes the age of 40, the  testosterone only goes down by 1 percent. In many of the cases if a guy often has often hot flashes. Its often  lower mens  testosterone will often help men cure prostata cancer.

But since you already mentioned that your dad dont have any cancer treatment. I would check the medicine and the things he take dayli. If it can cause any side effect.
Maybe go back in time, and re-think when these hot flashes started ???

But I would for sure go to the doc, and taken care of that.

Hello,

I suggest that he see an endocrinologist, these doctors specialize in issues than can possibly be due to glandular issues which is what I would suspect from what you have described.

In women, hot flashes are due to hormonal fluctuations, I am not sure if this is the same case with men, but the endocrinologist would be able to tell you.
