Very interesting. I'll try TMG out as well to see how I go. My biggest suspect with my current dopamine levels is damage due to inflammatory cytokines from insulin resistance (I have reversed this condition now but I've had insulin resistance for decades). My father also has Parkinson's disease which is depletion of dopamine producing cells so that is something I have to think about as well. I'll take all ideas and give it a shot. I hate dopamine deficiency with a passion!
"This multiplicity of changes in the basal ganglia and dopamine function suggest fundamental effects of inflammatory cytokines on dopamine synthesis, packaging, release and/or reuptake, which may sabotage and circumvent the efficacy of current treatment approaches." - Cytokine Effects on the Basal Ganglia and Dopamine Function: the Subcortical Source of Inflammatory Malaise - Front Neuroendocrinol. 2012 Aug; 33(3): 315–327.
You are likely slow methylators.
Methylation converts homocysteine into glutathione and SAMe.
SAMe is an important methyl donor which facilitates the production of neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonine AND their derivatives.
Hallmark features are Methylfolate, Methylocobalamin and B6 deficiencies.
Only the methylated forms of the aforementioned vitamins work for methylation, so beware of any labs that show normal levels of the unmethylated forms. It is misleading, when doctors and patients rest assured their levels are fine, when the levels of the "correct" forms are not tested for.
An inexpensive trial of TMG for methylation might be worth considering.
I have found TMG as a methyl donor to work as good, at a much lower cost.
Hope this helps.

I used to have extremely low dopamine levels so I didn't yawn. As I have slowly increased dopamine levels to some degree correcting many medical conditions as well as exercising I am a bit better but nowhere near optimal levels and now I yawn on the odd occasion but it's an incomplete yawn. I am going to try Mucuna Pruriens to see if this helps increase dopamine levels further. There are many other symptoms of dopamine deficiency from low motivation/procrastination to addictive behaviour.
