is this normal

i am 48 year of age and the last 2 months before i get my period i get extremely dizzy and nauses. I am in bed at least 3 days, It feels like im getting my period but nothing happens, I also get very hot then very cold. this stops and then a week later my period comes and the used to take 7 days now 3 days. What is happening to my body, and is this normal?

Sounds like menopause symtoms. You should make an appt with GYN for tests..pap..explain your symtoms to the doctor.

You may be very close to your menopause.  My Mum has very sleepness nights, sweats, then cold again.  Wants to sleep a lot, then no sleep, god the moods!  Ask your doc to check your hormones to see if you are near to having your menopause.

What you are probably suffering from is premenstrual tension exacerbated due to premenopause. You should get a gynecological consult and go for a complete hormone profile which would include FSH, LH, estrogen, progesterone, prolactin and thyroid hormone. Hope this helps. Take care!
