large yellow 'ish' blisters around waist??????

43 yr old male
A friend of mine went to his GP as he was passing blood in his urine, and was in pain. The GP has prescribed "Trimethoprim".Is this just a reaction, or something more serious?.
I have pics of the blisters to show anyone who can help in any way.
Another factor to consider when diagnosing is that he was very ill earlier this year, which was something to do with his pancreas, through many years of abuse I think.

Please someone help?, I have lost a friend 10weeks ago with heart failure and I dont think I could take it if there was something wrong and I had not tried to help.

I eagerly await a reply
Thnx for your time

If you go to google.com, you can do a search for ~images~ of shingles.
There are lots of images available, and this will give you something to compare your friend's blisters to.

Yes this was also my thoughts too, but I have never seen shingles, is there anyway I can upload an image of the blisters to show someone on here? As regards to his "doctor" I'm afraid that when you have abused yourself in this town not many have the time of day for you, and seems like his doctor MUST have been born here lol (small town, big gossips, no incling of LIFE the way it should be). He is in so much pain though and I just don't want to give up on him. I will try and see if I cant find somewhere on here to upload pics and hopefully someone may recognise just what it is. Thankyou for taking time to answer me.

My first thought was also shingles. Was the area which is now broken out very painful? Usually, with shingles, that is the first symptoms. After that initial intense pain the blisters appear. The blisters follow along a nerve & are localized.. Shingles is contagious when in the blister stage only. Before the blisters appear & after they are dried up there is no threat of spreading the disease. Often pts. will complain about lingering pain at the site even after the rash is gone. Shingles are very painful...Your friend should see a Dr. for anti-viral meds & pain medication.http://www.answers.com/shingles

If the rash was a reaction to a medication the rash would be more generalized & not painful.
God Bless, TJ

Shingles sometimes presents as small blisters.

Has his physician seen him for this?
If it is shingles, which is viral, there is an antiviral medication that should help.

Just a thought,
