left breast/chest pain

Why am i getting the chills and my whole left side feels like it's going to give out any minute. It feels like there is something going right through my heart straight to the back, tha's where all the pain is. It also effects my shoulder too. It also feels like I have indigestion and I have been having stomach problems for almost a whole week now. I am hoping that it's just a flu but the way it's going I think it's something else.

Hello,
The first possibility to be ruled out is MI.Pls get an ECG done. The other possibility is of referred pain due to gastritis.

Try raising the head of your bed about four inches with blocks. It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for two hours before you lie down. To help control the stomach acid, one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them, or eat chocolate or spicy or greasy foods .Take some OTC antacid like Mylanta. You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole). These will help. Also keep your fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a physician. Hope it helps.

Hi,

Left sided chest pain, radiating to back and shoulder, is almost always due to myocardial infarction. Please consult a cardiologist ASAP.
