I will look up the inderal. I'm glad you're feeling better now. It is so aggravating feeling this way all the time. I'm sure if you had headaches and neck pain for a year you understand that! Did you feel tired all the time?
Thanks
I had headaches everyday and pain in neck , felt terrible for almost a year. After medications which only slightly helped, I went to a neurologist who put me on a preventive med(inderal) which I take every night before bed and feel great now. Hope you find some relief too!
I'm sorry for my slow reply. I did have an MRI 8/29 and saw a neurologist 9/5. He said the MRI showed that my brain is normal (first person to tell me that!) and my sinuses and ears are crystal clear. It only showed a venous angioma that he said was nothing to worry about. He thinks the headaches are caused by muscular and/or nerve problems. Started me on neurontin and naproxen. Headaches have eased slightly, not gone away and still having ear pains.
I can identify with almost all the symptoms you listed. I saw my gyn. in July and she said that my bloodwork shows I am in peri-menopause. She and all three other doctors I've seen swear this isn't causing my headaches. Sorry this is so long and thanks very much for your reply. It helps to have others to discuss things with.
Hello,
Your symptoms are giving lead to the possibility of perimenopause. Perimenopause begins about 6 years before the natural menopause. This is a time when the levels of hormones produced by the aging ovaries fluctuate leading to irregular menstrual patterns, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness, fluctuations in sexual desire (libido), forgetfulness, trouble sleeping and fatigue, joint pains, headache, dizziness, palpitations of the heart and depression.
Can you identify any of these symptoms?
Other possibilities for these symptoms are compressive cranial neuropathies, Brain aneurysms, brain tumors, Brain infection like encephalitis, stroke or TIA(transient ischemic attack)Pls get a CT back of head and neck or MRI neck to find out the confirmatory diagnosis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted on how you are doing.
