low body temp-concern?

My "normal temperature" is between 93 and 95 (taken with digital oral thermometer) AVERAGE is 94.2. I have a difficult time seeing the doctore when I'm sick because for me when my temp hits 98 I'm feeling like I have a fever.
I've explained to the doctors that my temp runs between 93 and 95 and they are either not listening or not believing me..
My father had thyroid cancer and they removed the entire thyroid and my mom has a thyroid condition (hypo or hyper i can't remember)...needless to say thyroid probs. run in the family..
I have monitored my body temp since I was a teen and was told i needed to because it can be a symptom of thyroid problem....
I am not quite sure if I should be bothered by the fact that i Average 94.2 or just accept that this is normal for me or if i should push my Dr's to figure it out.
I've had many blood tests and even though there are abnormal counts on different things they are SO minor that my doctors ususally just brush it off to other posssibilities..
Should I be worried about having an average temp of 94? or since it's been that way for as many years as i can remember, should i assume that my body just accepts that as normal?

Yep! I have had low BP, pulse and temp all my life. I am now nearing 65.  As my doc pointed out - I am healthy and never had a really serious illness. So I see Docs are just not concerned unless it results in illness.   Still I must say the lethargy, dizziness, fainting etc has been a problem to ME. Don't ask me what the answer is though!.

When it is really low I resort to salt or a Rehydrate solution which does help a bit.  But my Dietition daughter tells me salt is bad for you in so many ways.

All the best! I hope one of us finds a good solution as so many of us suffer from this.

I understand where you are coming from. My normal body temp is 96.8. When I have a fever, I may show as the normal norm or a slight low grade. The same goes for my BP and HR. Meditation will drop them even lower. I was once told jokingly I should be dead - but that one doctor understood what I was doing to prove my point. When I have explained this to doctors now, they look at me like I have 2 heads. I don't have thyroid issues and my blood work is always 'fine' by their standards... none of them consider if something is on the low or high end of normal it could be an issue. They don't treat anyone like individuals anymore. You are your best critic, just as you know when something is really wrong.

people with hypo/hyperthyroidism can go for years without noticing any issues but if you look up symptoms of these disorders and you have them i would definitely tell your doctor and as far as your temperature me being a nurse nos that every persons temperatures run differently some ppls may run lower than others or even higher than others i am the same as you my temperature runs low so when i hit 99 i am feeling really ill and doctors dont seem to understand this. If you go to the doc when you temperature is lower like for a well check they will see the difference. I.E. dont just go to the doctor when your not feeling well go when you feel good just for check ups this is how doctors gather data about you
