Have you experienced constipation lately? If you are on narcotic pain medication, pretty bad constipation or impaction can present with low back pain, particularly in that area. You would know based on frequency, abdominal distension possibly. I only mention that as that's one of the few things I consider as a chronic pain patient. The abdominal pain is also consistent with constipation.
You are a roofer, which means you probably have had back injuries That is a reasonable guess. If this has been going on for a while, you could be missing something kinda important. The Sciatic Nerve is pretty big and connects a lot of different muscles. It would not surprise me if you associated shortness of breath with stomach pain, It doesn't seem like one thing in all, but I would definitely seek advice from a pain treatment center AND your primary care. If you don't have one, get one.
I Highly Suggest that at this point, you get evaluated by a pain management doctor. Your Primary Care Doctor would need to refer you as they don't take every person with pain. However, I would say that they should take a look at your case.
I know you want to be there for your girl, but you also have to take care of yourself too. If you don't take care of yourself, you cant take care of her. Its not selfish, its just the way things are until you get to a manageable point. Pain isn't an illness, but pain is something that we feel and having it as much as we do and as intense as we do can be debilitating. I would hold off on the hard core weight loss first and just get your pain under control.
The Sciatica probably should be treated with Lyrica or Gabapentin if it isn't already.
The intermittent pain suggests that it could be a posture-related Myofascial pain but it is iffy.
Being a roofer puts a lot of strain on your spine and it's the lack of adequate recovery which makes it worse.
Optimizing your posture while working as much as possible and also wearing a weight lifting belt or back support brace would help.
Yoga is a great activity but you need to watch at first with yoga as it is not as gentle as it appears to be, even if you feel better after doing it unless you stretch to your abilty without putting much strain.
Easing into it gradually -and the same thing goes for spinning- would serve you better in the long run.
Your biggest challenge is to lose weight and keep it off.
According to your height, your ideal weight should be 161-184 lbs if you are large frame male.
So at your current weight, you are considered obese, which puts you at an increased health risk.
Again taking a reasonable and gradual approach is best.
Losing a pound a week would bring you at your ideal weight in a year
and the loss is more sustainable.
Make sure you allow for recovery, by taking a day off here and there from
physical activity and work.
As far as your stomach aches go, try an elimination diet to determine if you're reacting to any foods.
Taking some lemon or apple cider vinegar before meals, would help, should you have low gastric acid levels.
There's nothing in your post that points to cancer at all.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes
Niko
