lump on left under arm

I am a 33 year old female I anoticed a lump on my under arm when I had my yearly physical I showed him he seem to think it was nothing but mabe a cyst.  He said If it bothered me( which It did or I wouldn't have showed him) I should go to a plastic surgeon to have it removed but that it might be worse than leaving it.  Its big enough that when I wear tank tops it sticks out of the fold beteen my chest and arm.  What could it be and sould I have it removed???

Hi, Is the lump in your skin? If it is its more than likely a sebaceous cyst I,m prone to getting them for some reason. You can have them removed if is a cyst . I had one removed a couple of years ago.  Quiet a simple procedure they just inject local anaestetic and cut it out . I,ve presently got two one on my back and one on the side of my breast under my arm. If it isnt in your skin I,d definately go back to your Dr for a clearer DX of what it is. Take Care Chris
