mass on the back of my neck

I noticed a few months back a large mass on the back of my neck at the bottom right above the bone on the line of my spine. When I lean my head back back it sticks out and and is solid but not hard and can push in. It doesn't necessarily hurt, but it feel like it will if i push in harder and i notice my neck gets real stiff and its almost like its tired. Its really hard to explain, i was just unsure if its something I never noticed and i'm just freaking myself out or if it should be treated and looked at. Thank you !

Morning,
If I was you I would go to you PCP and have him/her look at it. The mass could be something as simple a cyst that needs drained. They would be able to just stab it with a syringe to see if it is "fluid" filled and if so drain it. If it is not a cyst they would be able to get to the bottom of it for you.
My wife would just come up behind me while I'm brushing my teeth or something and stab me with a needle herself. Hope you are enjoying all the snow in CT, I lived in Middletown for 4 years.
