methadone and albuterol info.

If a person were to ingest liquid methadone and take an albuterol breathing treatment, is there any way that a drug test (blood or any other kind) could show up positive for a small amount of alcohol? Someone mentioned that methadone can metabolize into alcohol. Is this true?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Methadone and its major metabolite, 2-ethylidene-1,5-dimethyl-3,3-diphenylpyrrolidine EDDP, are often measured in urine as part of a drug abuse testing program. Hence It can be detected in urine if you are taking it. Conversion is to EDDP and not alcohol and its presence is taken as drug abuse. Take care!
