ms?

I am very young, but I know that my mother has ms. I have had a strange reaccuring tingling sensation in my legs. As though they are vibrating. I feel the need to bend my knees and ankles as though that would help (it doesn't). I just want to know if there is anything to worry about, or if it some kind of growing pain. I am afterall only fifteen as well as prone to precautionary freakouts.

MS does run in families and it can start as early as puberty, but MS tingling usually starts out on one side of the body.  Tingling can be caused by a number of things, such as irritated nerve(s), circulatory problems, neurological infections like Lyme Disease, reactions to medications, and believe it or not, even stress.

If it doesn't go away shortly, then a trip to the doctor is in order. Lyme Disease is certainly worth considering given your location, especially if there is anything else going on that you haven't mentioned.. About half of Lyme patients do not recall a tick or a rash so they are not prerequisites to testing.

Do you know that many people with lyme disease are diagnosed as having ms. There is no known cause for ms, it is still undiagnosed. You live in the heart of lyme country. Lyme effects the nervous system and effects everyone differently. It is very difficult to test for because testing is very inaccurate. You could test negative and still have it. This is what happened to me, my husband and son. Doctors were baffled because our lyme testing came back negative and we were all have problems with our nervous system. We were not labeled with ms because we found a specialist in lyme disease and got proper testing. Your mom may actually have lyme and you as well. The best way to get tested is though Igenex labs. Go to Lymenet.org and there you can find out more info. There you can find a list of symptoms for lyme and other undetected infections.
Your profile says you are 25.
