also i'd like to say that when it was first forming every time i'd go do the #2 it felt like my tailbone was cracking or something (i think it was the lump moving back and forth?)
Thanks!!
I was reading online (which i know just makes people more paranoid because online diagnosis is not a good thing to do) but it had a symptom of anal cancer as "palpable lump near the anus" and that's what kind of freaked me out.
My lump thing has not grown over the 1 and a half years i've had it and i'm wondering if it is/were cancer would i have other symptoms/what other symptoms would i have to make me concerned?
I'm just concerned about how it hasn't gone away and it's not exactly soft but not hard either and the fact that i have a second one a bit lower down (one inch lower) but it hasn't grown at all it's REALLY small but i can feel it anyway.
I'll try to describe it as best i can again just in case:
-was extremely tender/painful to sit on when it first came,
-now it's not painful at all
-very palpable
-size of an m&m
-it's slightly on the left of my tailbone (adjacent to my left buttock but again i can move it around easily with my finger)
-i looked thru a mirror i can't see any pimple or anything visible; it's totally internal
-now i have a second one that's VERY VERY small and about 1-1.5 inches lower, feels like it's right under the skin
-the first one is about 1-1.5 inches down from the top of my butt crack
*note that I do often sit with my tailbone pressed to the ground, i have fallen several times but none that recently (i had fallen before when i got the initial one)
thanks so much for your time and help!!
Hi
To begin with you were in pain in tailbone region and now feel only lumps with reduced pain. The pain could be coccydynia or tailbone pain. This occurs if there has been a history of falling flat backwards or landing on your buttocks. The tail bone or coccyx dislocates backwards on sitting and this is probably what you are feeling.
The other possibility is neurofibroma, an abnormal collection of nerve and fibrous tissue. It could also be a cyst as pilonidal cysts are common in this area.
Please consult a neurologist. It may be a good idea to get a MRI of the region. This does not look like cancer though.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
thanks! i also have another question, may be totally unrelated, but:
so basically about one and a half years ago during the track season every time i sat something in my butt crack would hurt a LOT (only when i put weight/sat on that part) and over time it got less and less painful but it's basically an m&m-sized palpable lump that i STILL have and it's in my butt crack about an inch down and very very palpable. it hasn't grown since i got it (size, like i said, of an m&m) and it's like sort of flat-ish but round. if i press really hard on it it's minorly squishy (so not like rock hard). i'm just really paranoid about cancer (every little thing that happens to me i just get scared of dying) and i'm just wondering if i should be concerned? i have no other symptoms, and i'm 16 years old. i can't visibly see it, it feels like it's right under my skin; it's on my tailbone practically and this summer another one came in about an inch lower but it's extremelyyyyy small (like half the size of a pea) and it was just a little painful when it popped up but it's not painful or anything and it's about a cm from my anus hole. could these be cysts or what? agian, they feel like they're right below my skin, not visble or visibly poking out or anything, no other anal/symptoms.
thanks!!
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
There are two possibilities. One is that you have cellulitis or infection of the skin on right side or dermatitis or eczema.
The second possibility is that you have sinusitis of the right maxillary sinus. All these conditions can cause your neck lymph nodes to swell. Please consult your doctor regarding this. You may need to see an ENT specialist too.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
