nipple discharges

joy
I am 43 years old, I used oral contraceptives for more than 7 years. Now, I have this yellowish fluid discharges in my left breast nipple for about 4 years now. Does this fluid discharges have something to do with my prolonged used of oral contraceptives? Does this has something to do with "breast cancer"? I am so worried about it, please help me enlightened. What the best thing to do? Thank you and God Bless.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!

Yes, nipple discharge can happen due to prolonged use of oral contraceptives. Except for Paget’s disease of the breast (a type of cancer), nipple discharge is rarely seen in other forms of cancer of breast. Discharge could also be due to fibrocystic disease of the breast.
You need a comprehensive investigation taking all these points in consideration. A mammograph will be helpful.  Please discuss this with your doctor and get yourself investigated accordingly. Do keep me posted. Take care!
