numbness in toes, sometimes bleed, for 5 years

My toes are numb most of the time, sometimes if I bump into something they bleed and I do not even know it.  What could this be?

I would make an appointment with your family doctor and tell him/her about the symptoms you are having.  I am sure he or she will be able to address them.
Take care, Sharon

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Numbness of toes can be due to pinched nerve, poor circulation, faulty foot wear, diabetic neuropathy, leprosy, nerve injury, multiple sclerosis and frost bite. This needs to be investigated before a final cause can be pin pointed.
Bleeding under toe nails can be due to infection, fragile capillaries, bleeding disorders, low Vit K, trauma, wearing tight foot wear or walking in a wrong posture with too much pressure on toes. However, please consult a doctor for confirmed diagnosis. Take care!
