A pinched nerve in the lower back area could cause symptoms of pain in the butt with pain that may run down at the back of the leg.  This type of pinched nerve is called sciatica.

Take a look all round the thigh area, or get someone else to take a look to see if there are any signs of any bug bites.  It may be that you have stung by something and if this is the case, a calomine based lotion from your pharmacy will help to relieve the itching.

If there are no signs of any bug or stings and you feel the condition worsens when you are walking or standing, this is likely to be a pinched nerve in the groin area, called meralgia paraesthetica.  You can look that up on the web.  You would get the symptoms more on the outer thigh that can run down to the knee.  This can happen in one thigh or both.

If you are overweight, try and lose some weight as this condition is aggravated by the weight, especially if this is around the belly area.

If you are not able to establish whether this is from a bite or sting (could be from a plant as well as a bug), make an appointment to see your doctor to get the correct diagnosis.

Unfortunately, a chiropractor will not help if your condition is any one of the above.  A physiotherapist would be able to give you specific exercises to do.
