vinny - This might sound odd, I'm not sure how to say it... Your balance is located in your ears.  When you have an inner ear infection it will affect your balance and perhaps might even make you feel a little dizzy.  I've had tons of ear infections growing up, so I know a lot about them.  I usually get them from having water stuck in my ears (from swimming or even from the shower).

dannyMH - Your sinus/mild fever feelings could very well be an ear infection or it could be your tonsils (if you still have them) - or it could be an ear infection that is spreading down towards your tonsils - you should see a doctor - that's not a fun experience!!

I just learned this (from personal experience), that if you are getting dizzy, light headed, lack of balance, your hips could be off balance - ie. one hip higher/lower than the other.  believe me, you walk funny.  Also if you have low potassium and/or magnesium this can cause you to get light headed, dizzy, and throw your whole body off balance.  I've started taking a daily vitamin and it has helped me tremendously.

I too get short of like a light vertigo.... its been two month.... I first noticed this when i was applying some lotion on my legs.. as i rub.... i get that off balance motion...as soon as i stop it stops too..i rub again it comes again.... it bothers me so much....sometimes it occurs when I'm walking too..... and I know I always get this off balance feeling as soon as get out of the LIFT even only from one story building high...which never ever happen before.

*i do have sinus for all my life...when i try to blow it out nothing comes out.. the only way i get it out is through the nasal passage... as i try to swallow it down.. I hear "crackle" in my ears...

could this be an ear infection ? I often get mild-fever feeling too.. and the throat short of like closing up..and its very hard to swallow.

please enlighten me!

if your balance problems continue you might also want to consider cardio problems like POTS, low b12, or a potassium issue if the docs haven't already. Good luck and keep us posted.

im on antibiotics  im almost  done with it feeling better  than i was before.  i never had any of these problems  before with me getting  off balance.  i still get that problem  probably  the equilibrium.  it goes away on its own.  im gonna ask for a mri or ct scan to be on the safe side.  remember  im a ex smoker i quitted 65days ago.  maybe everything  is due to tension  having  major  withdrawal  from not  smoking all the chemicals  in your body that comes out.

Well that's good news. Did the doc give you meds for the ear infection? I didn't mention this in my first post, but I've suffered from chronic ear infections for the last two years. Every once in a while I will fee a litte dizzy, kinda like your on the ocean, but it's real subtle. It happens at the oddest times...like when I'm sitting or laying down and that's it. I finally came to understand that when I experienced this that I probably had an infection. The doctor would always confirm. I've been on Mucinex (660mg pill 2x daily) for the last year. This keeps my symptoms at bay. I think I have a chronic infection, but with mucinex it never gets so strong that it causes me any problems. When I go off the mucinex and the infection gets bad within in a couple of days and I have to go back for the doc for more antibiotics.

Well, hard to say. Most likely it is an inner ear problem. Definelty could be an infection.

You know, there are all different kinds of vertigo and balance issues that can be caused by so many things. I suggest an internist, or even better if you can since ou aren't feeling well get to a Neurologist who will check you for inner ear problems. The test is painless but it can make you feel worse for a short time. It is called an ENG. Research Vestibular disorders on the internet and see if any of this sounds familiar. It can also cause ear pain or pressure even without an infection. I thought I had an ear infection, but it was my inner ear.
Peace and blessings
