pain under rib on the right side

Hello. I've been having a sharp ongoing pain under rib on the right side of the body. The pain is very strong and comes only at night. There is no pain during the day, but I still feel uncomfortable. I took a Morning after pill 2 months ago, had a small period right after, but for 2 months since then, I'm having a little blood spots. Not a normal heavy period, that lasts 4-5 days. What it can be? I understand that it's normal.

For about 9 months I have been have upper right/middle stomach problems. I have had ultra sounds, CT scans among other test and all were normal. It seems like the doctor really isn't concerned and makes me feel like it is in my head. This is not a sharp pain but an ache, that really hurts. It comes and goes and really doesn't have to do with what I eat. (I can just have a granola bar and it starts) Some times it is a couple times a month and last 3 days or so, with the second and third day being worse. Sometimes it is more often. I have cut out my "diet" drinks and other products that contain "fake" sugars, hopeing this may be the problem but a week later it is back. It comes with upper stomach bloating and gas. Sometimes I feel like cutting my guts open to locate the exact spot for my doctor! Please help me, I just feel as if doctors really don't want to figure out what it is. "Well, its not anything we can see, let me know if it does it more", HELLO its been happening for 9 months!! But I just suffer with it for now!! Is there any doctor out there that will at least try to figure out what is wrong with me????

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The pain under right ribs could be due to acidity caused by morning after pill. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. See if this helps. If it does not , consult a doctor to rule out gall bladder, liver, and pancreas problems.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!

Like Zaylil it could be your gull bladder, pancreus and or liver. I had mine removed at around 25. I was puking, cramping and was not able to eat. Id go see your Dr. and have him run some test. The one test that will show whats going on with your gull bladder is having an ultra sound done. If you think you may have contracted an std id have test done for that as well. there is pain in the abdominal area associated with an std. which one? I dont know. Good luck.

On the right side under your ribs you have very important body parts. Pancrease, this is what helps your body develop and get rid of foods. It sounds like you could have Gall bladder issues. Your Gall bladder is conected to your pancrease (i dont think that that is how it is spelt) what you should do is go get checked by your doctor. If your pregnant you might as well know now rather then later. If it is your gall bladder or pancrease you will want to know about those things right away. Good luck.
