Upper right side pain may be from your liver, gall bladder or kidneys.

It depends on exactly where the pain is on the upper side and any other symptoms that you may have.  With kidney problems you would also experience feeling unwell and frequent urination, may be profuse sweating and chills.  If this sounds more likely, you must drink lots of fluids, especially water.

Liver and gall bladder problems would be made much worse when eating some foods and particularly fried foods.

With lung problems you would also have pain with breathing.

Either way as you are experience stabbing pain that is getting worse, you need to make an urgent appointment to see your doctor to find out the exactly what this is so that you can get the appropriate treatment and advice.
