pale, dizzy, nausea, shaking after exercise

I am a D1 runner.  Two weeks ago I had been having a lot of trouble controling my asthma so I was pulled from any cardiovascular activity.  My medication kept changing to find a good balance.  My asthma seemed to get in more control and I was allowed to slowly build up through cross training again.  However, ater 20 minutes of exercise (this is in the morning) I am exhuasted, my eyes are glazing according to those around me, and severely dizzy.  I have to be pulled off and rest.  They give me gataroade to try to cure the dizinness.  This always cures it.
Even throuhout the day I sometimes become extremely hungry, am extremely larthargic, and my right hand trembles uncontrollably.  I feel like I am eating and drinking a lot.  What could the cause be?

I also have no medical experience, but have hundreds of tests for this and that....your medication may be the cause, but if you are feeling better after Gatorade (which is full of sugar) it sounds like unstable blood sugars, low....do you then get a real drop after 1-2 hours from drinking gatorade if you do then your blood sugar levels are a problem....next time drink the gatorade (or eat 8 jellybeans ) and have a piece of grain bread with it ...when the high of the gatorade drops it will meet what you have eaten half way and you should feel a lot better.  If you are just drinking sugar you get a blood sugar level peak and then the levels drop and you feel shocking again as there is nothing else in your systom - I have suffered for 3 years like this and the doctors could never find anything wrong...could neve explain the bizzare feelings, but now know why...best of luck to you

As long as you are sweating "heat stroke" can potentially apply.

But definately have this checked out with a doc.

I am also not a medical doctor but, if drinking gatorade is elevating your symptoms after training it very much sounds like you are either dehydrated or suffer from an electrolyte balance.  Thirst, hunger, and headaches thoughout the day are also symptoms of these conditions.  As Avalongod said, it is very possible this could be caused by your new meds which could have a  diuretic effect of possibly effect your metabolism (have you lost any weight recently).  I would recommend cutting out all diuretic substances from your diet, if they are present, (caffenated drinks, alcohol etc.), drink more water and electrolye replacement drinks (esp. before exercise) and if you are hungry eat more as your body is trying to tell you something.  If this doesnt help, I would certainly seek medical help as dehydation and electrolyte imbalances can be very dangerous

thanks for all your help! originally we thought it was the new meds but I am taken off of them.  In addition, all of my activity is being done indoors in an aironditioned environment so i don't see how heat would affect me.

I'm not a medical doctor, so I would definately suggest seeing a doctor.

Couple possibilities though...one might be a reaction to the new meds.  You might want to see if your new med has increased side effects during intense activity.

Secondly could be "heat stroke" which often has some of the symptoms you described (neurological in nature) and would explain why gatorade seems to cure it, at least the initial symptoms.  Possible that your new med is increasing dehydration?  Some meds do.  Drinking plenty of gatoraid (which as you probably know has salt in it which is what you lose in sweat that causes heat stroke since neurons need NaCl to work) before and during activity may help, but I'd definately get back to the doctor to see what is going on.

The intense craving for food and water may also be related to the new med and any diuretic effects it may have.
