pooping blood in large amounts

My husband bleeds extremely when he goes to the bathroom. Poop. He is scared to death of doctors and will not take medicine. Please help.

Your husband absolutely needs to be seen by a doctor -- now, if he hasn't already.  If needed, go to the ER.  This is not something to wait on, and is certainly not an issue to ignore.  Drag him, kicking and screaming, if you have to.

It could just be a hemorrhoid, but it could also be very serious.

your husband absolutely needs to see a physician, in particular a gastro.  there can be blood in the stool for lots of benign reasons, but it also can be due to a more serious medical reason.  you can't ignore the possibility of a colon tumor, even if it's the LEAST likely reason.  i always feel like i have to give everyone a warning re blood in stools:  we have a family friend who ignored such warning signs for a long time, and he's lucky to be alive.  he now has a colostomy bag, which possibly could have been avoided had he consulted a doctor earlier.  it's most likely something less serious, but please get your husband to a doctor.
