I have really bad pain in my left ankle on the outside bone and my whole foot is swollen. it is tingly and hurts when I walk and hurts when pressing on the outside bone. I can walk on it but it hurts really bad!!
Do you remember injuring your ankle or foot? Possibly twisting it?
I suggest maybe getting an xray to rule out a fracture (could be a stress fracture if there was no actual "injury"). Meanwhile, until you can get an xray done, use the ICE method to hopefully get some relief:
I -- Ice
C - Compression - wrap in an ace bandage or similar
E - Elevation - elevate your foot as much and as often as possible - best to elevate above the level of the heart, however, even elevating/propping it up on a couch or chair might help.
You may want to try some over the counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen, aleve or tylenol - however, be sure to double check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking anything if you are on any other medications or under a doctor's care for anything to make sure there won't be any interactions between meds.
Best of luck and please keep us posted on how you're doing.
