My doctor sent me to do an x-ray, and it showed absolutely nothing, no problems with or any changes in spacing between spine segments, spine curvatureCurvature of the penis or anything else, so to make it short - nothing to concern.
This has been happening to me for last year (after x-ray). I'm littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys confused. So my question is "is it possible that all this pain is caused, and still not to be sciatica or other problem caused by spine"?
.
One more thing, I never have pain in my lower back, I can do all the test like bending over, standing and walking on heels or so without increase of pain.
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
It can be a neurological or a vascular problem since it started when you exercised without warmup. Dopplar studies are requied to rule out thrombus in the veins. Sciatica cannot be ruled out, however X-ray is not sufficient to reach a diagnosis. You need to get a MRI done.
History of taking injections in the buttocks in the recent past should be looked into. A number of times old injection sites start troubling if undue pressure is put on them as in prolonged sitting.
Another possibility is ischiogluteal bursitis. This is inflammation of the bursa that lies between the ischial tuberosity and the tendon of hamstring muscle. The bursa may show inflammation without any cause or in association with hamstring tendinitis or inflammation of tendon of hamstring. The pain increases on stretching.
Myofascial pain or trigger points in the Gluteus medius muscle and Piriformis muscles can cause pain in the buttock area which may radiate to thighs. Stretching the muscle increases the pain.
Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor (PCP) and get a referral for a sports clinic and consult a sports medicine specialist. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
doctornee medical thank you for your answer. I have been to neurologist. He conducted some tests on me (bending over my back, twisting in different directions(my back), lifting my legs while lying, reflex test etc.) and I haven't experienced pain while doing any of them. Reflexes perfect. After this he looked at my x-ray findings again and told me it is nothing about the spine and nerves, probably deep tissue or muscle in my buttock injury. He also gave me ibuprofen. Didn't recommend MRI, because it's not necessary.
More info: when I had hurt myself at first I had no sudden great pain at all, the pain developed after I went to went to run thinking it will go away that way.
