Did they say what type of migraine you have? Do beta blockers lessen migraines? I was given cyproheptadine for my migraines to try to lower the frequency because I have auras, double vision, and flashing lights that dart across my vision in addition to the migraine headaches and a lot of times without. I haven't tried this new med yet to see if it helps. There are a couple of types of migraine that cause the paralysis of the face and one that paralyzes one side of the body like a stroke. I have an arrrhythmia (PAC's) too so beta blockers may help me as well. Let me know how the side effects are for you and if they work on the migraines. My neighbor had them every day too and tried IV magnesium. It seems to help as she is doing a lot. I'll have to ask her if she has changed meds. My doctor also offered Riboflavin plus magnesium. I was afraid to take Topamax because this can give you glacoma (main side effect) and other problems. I guess if you went on that you would have to get monitored very often. I hope these go away for you.

I've been to my doctor. He gave me beta blockers. The migranes are every day. And its my whole head. And yeah parts of my face go numb. Mainly mouth and cheeks sometimes my ears
Go to your doctor and you will probably get some scans to make sure it nothing serious.
Hi and sorry you have this problem. It could be a migraine or it could be seizure related. Migraines are always on one side of the head or one eye. It is typical with some migraines to have vomiting. Do you have the numbness on the face or various parts of the body? That may be something else. Some migraines can make your face numb. I get shaking with my migraine variant as well but it only is at night and not all the time. You need to see a neurologist who specializes in migraines and have an evaluaiton to make sure something else isn't going on. They should do an EEG to see if you are positive for migraine and/or seizure. If you can't get into a neurologist soon then see your regular doctor. How long has this lasted or does it come and go? If it is all the time I would go to the ER and have them get the tests done there. Please have someone drive you. Let me know how it goes.
