sharp stabbing pain on left side of head

by amyd28, Apr 01, 2007 12:00AM
I started having sharp shooting pains about every 2 or 3 minutes on the left side of my head 1 day ago.  I have taken BC to releive the pain, but that has not helped.  I worry about this because my sister had a brain anurysum a couple of years ago (she survived) and my grandfather had one and he died.  Should I be concerned?

Consider calling your local ER and speaking with the triage nurse and especially if you have neck stiffness, vomiting or nausea or a dilated pupil in one eye. It could be anything... I know there is a condition that is called temporal arteritis that can cause headaches as you describe.

Good luck !

I just started experiencing the same thing.  Did you ever find out what it was?
