i have had a pain under my right rib for over 3 months now i had a slight rash in the same place as the pain for a couple of weeks the rash turned into small sores could it be shingles the pain is always there

Sounds like you have shingles. You can get a prescription from the doctor for herpes med called zovirax. It will stop the breakout and alleviate the pain. You will probably be tired, and worn out feeling for awhile from shingles though. Good luck

I would advise you to be checked by your doctor.

It could be shingles (if you had chicken pox in the past).  
May be impetigo or Thrush.  

Once the doctor examines you and sees the rash, he will be able to diagnose the problem and will be able to treat it accordingly.
