shuddering

by lucy005, Sep 12, 2007 10:52PM
for the last week, I have been noticing an all over body trembling/shuddering (not visible to the eye).
I don't notice it if I am moving around but as soon as I sit still. It's a shakey shuddering feeling. I feel it most in my core and arms. There does not seem to be any correlation between this symptom and eating. I have been feeling quite exhausted.
I have a very healthy (organic, balanced) diet. I do not smoke. I did however have a fairly serious post procedure infection after an IUD insertion (it was taken out as soon as I got medical attention) about a month ago and was placed on both anaerobic and aerobic antibiotics. I recovered from the infection after two weeks of antibiotics and an additional week of rest.
Could this shuddering be due to some kind of deficiency? (I am on a medication that supposedly affects potasium levels....)

Lucy,
A common deficiency that causes all kinds of problems is low levels of magnesium within the body's cells, including the nerves.
I used to get this internal trembling sensation, but it improved after I supplemented magnesium.
After doing some reading about which kinds were more easily absorbed by the gut, I got Source Naturals Ultra-Mag, which has Magnesium as magnesium citrate, taurinate, glycinate, and succinate.   (You can do a search at iHerb.com to see the product.)
Don't waste your money on magnesium oxide, which is cheap but poorly absorbed by the intestines.  Almonds are high in magnesium.  Epsom salts are composed of magnesium chloride, so if you do a twenty minute soak in a tub of water with Epsom salts, you absorb magnesium through your skin.
If you do an online search, there is a lot of information available about magnesium, even books.  It is needed for all enzyme processes within the cells, so its depletion is serious.

I hope this will help.
