Hello,
Numbness in hips can be due to pinched nerves, nerve irritation or spinal nerves problem. A pinched nerve is caused when a nerve is somehow damaged or injured by direct pressure or compression. Apart from cold compresses and pain killers like NSAID’s, braces can also be used which prevents the patient from movements that may further compress or pinch the affected nerve. The last option is surgical approach to release the pinched nerve.
I suggest you to get a MRI spine done to rule out any soft tissue injury and a nerve conduction velocity test to rule out any pinched nerve.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
That is a sign of a nerve being pinched somewhere. You both need a mri done to see what is pinching it. I have had a total of 5 disk in my lower back herniate and I now have permanent nerve damage. You need to watch for numbness, tingling, muscle weakness and severe pain. Please go to my profile and look at the nerve chart. It shows what nerve can be pinched and what it can effect. Also be very careful until you get it checked I only have 22% of the feeling from my waist down because I ignored my pain and trust me you do not want that to happen to you. Good luck to both of you.
as soon as you get an answer i would love to know! i have been dealing with this for a month now. almost 4-5 times a week i will wake up and have pain and numbness down my side and it hurts, i have no idea what it is from or what could be causing it. i try my hardest to sleep on my back and when i do and are able to stay that way all night i wake up fine but if i wake up on my side forget about it. i dont know what could be causing it but i know what your going thru! good luck and hope someone can give you an answer!
