slightly elevated liver enzyme levels and toddler

Hello,

I am a mother of a 16 month old daughter whose blood tests show slight elevation in liver enzyme levels (64). An ultrasound of her spleen, liver and kidney all showed normal constitution. We are still anxiously awaiting the blood results for viral infections (CMV, mono, hepatitis...). My  main question is whether a 16 month old is still considered an infant, rendering her liver enzyme levels within the normal range. Can the MMR vaccine lead to temporary liver enzyme elevations? Is there any possibility that one's liver enzyme levels always be 'normally' elevated? Lastly, can simply a bad case of a flu virus ever influence liver enzyme levels? Any feedback for a worried mum would be welcome.

I fully understand your worry, I was told today that my 10month old baby girl test results had come back showing that her liver test is slightly elevated. I had no idea what this means so i have been trawling the internet to try and find out but all i could find were things related to deseases. I am a bit worried as they want to do the test again in for weeks to see if there are any changes, and it feels that that is such a long time to wait when she is so little. I will just have to wait and see if they come back normal next time.
Im hoping that it it because she has been a little poorly but i dont know if that can make a difference to the results.

i can tell you manythings can cause in increase in ezymes .. Tylenol can even increase it.  Try to relax.  I can only imagine how difficult it must be.  I had elevateed enzymes due to hep c. but thank God the tx worked andi am fine and enzymes are back to normal.  Try not to get your self worked up my co-workers enzymes are elevated.. they have run all every test known and nothing.. they are just elevated.  Hope this puts your mind at ease
