sore throat and horrible cough

I have been sick on and off for over a month, mainly sore throat. I dont have med insurance so I am unable to just go to doctor whenever I feel bad. I have a sore throat, it really isnt bad, it is just kinda scratchy and annoying. I have had it about 3 days now, well 2 days ago I got this horrible cough where I have been coughing up green phlegm and am starting to get hoarse. This isnt the first time it has happened, but it is really starting to bother me. I dont know why I have been so sick lately, I never used to be. The cough is so bad I gag and almost throw up. I cannot take over the counter meds for colds because I have pvc's (premature ventrical contractions; heart palpitations). So any advice on what is causing and what I can do to ease the coughing and irritation would be appreciated.

You might actually wanna shell out the dough for a doc IMHO. One of my moms friends in college died after experiencing symptoms like these. He thought it was just flu or a cold, but too late it was found out that he had pneumonia. Its prolly nothing, but any symptoms persisting for a month definitely need to be checked out IMHO.
