sparodic swollen armpit lymph nodes

Hi I am a healthy (at least as far as I can tell) 24 year old man. I do suffer from mild sinusitis.

About 4 months ago I a lymph node in my right armpit swelled up, this lasted for about 2 days, as it was fading a lymph node in my left armpit swelled up.

I went to see my GP and had a range of blood tests done, including an HIV test. Everything came back saying I am right as rain.

Since then the cycle has repeated itself 4 times. Always one armpit then the other, sometimes spaced by a few days, and never remaining swollen for longer than 2 days. After the second occurrence I had some of the tests repeated but everything is seemingly ok.

This is now the fifth occurrence, a lymph node in my right armpit swelled up about 6 days ago and was back to normal 4 days ago. A lymph node in my left armpit became swollen today, the onset is fairly fast, about 3 hours from normal to as swollen as it gets, I expect it will be mostly gone by tomorrow evening.

A lot of things can cause swollen lymph nodes, including sinusitis, however I have had sinus symptoms a lot longer than I have had these swollen lymph nodes.

Any advice or suggestions are most appreciated.

My husband has the same problem. Have you checked your deodorant for aluminum? It clogs.

I don't know why you would be having this happen, but my CT scan showed bilateral axillary lymph nodes that are enlarged. The ENT Dr. didn't seem concerned at all. I even had a diagnostic mammogram prior to seeing these on the CT scan. I think these lymph nodes drain the upper arm and abdomen and perhaps a few other things. If you aren't experiencing anything else, then most likely it's nothing to worry about. Do you do a lot of heavy lifting and physical work? Perhaps you're using muscles in this area more than you realize and your lymph nodes are reacting. Also, do you have any skin conditions like psoriasis? My Dad has that and he has experienced swollen lymph nodes a lot when he was younger.

Hope you're doing well!
