don't worry it is related with the other symptoms, when they will regress, follicles will go back to normal, it's not irreversible.
wow! ok. ill look it up asap. real busy nexy 2 days. BALD? UGHHHHHH. i dont think im gonna letb that happen! im gonna will this sh%$ to stop. talk 2 ya soon.
I'm Italian I live in Rome, so no 4th of July here! eheh
it is important to think positively, but also to think rationally.
Your slight loss of vision goes along with the rest of the symptoms and positivity to the Romberg's test. If all goes well you should regain your "old" vision along with negativity to the Romberg. it all goes along with the rest of the symptoms peripheral Neuropathy etc.
I talked about my suspects with a Doc. in a important private clinic and he said that I've done a great job basically. there is no way to confirm it but so far it makes a lot of sense. The Neurologist at the local Uni had talked about some chronic infection, I don't think he was on this. he had me do MRI I still haven't seen him again. I seem to be healing spontaneously.
My mother has had sudden a loss of visual field after some gastroenteritis months ago, she's positive to the Romberg's test. other people in the area showed mixed infective-neurological-vision symptoms and if you noticed they have almost monopolized this forum.
I don't know what is causing this, but if it really was some sort of a flu it would spread to mayor city airports worldwide first and almost simultaneously. Including Denver I figure. Rome has 12 million visitors a year.
Losing hair is compatible with auto-immune reaction. The immune system is "shutting down" the Hair follicle. That too could regress.
I had a flash look on Google and I found an article from Fox News "H1N1 May Cause Baldness" look it up.
i just had eye exam 5.24.12 doc says the eyeballs [the entire thing] is as it should be. but 40 seems to be the age when vision starts to change, as far as reading, up close etc... so thats where the bi focals come in. he says its pretty common. AND YOU; Last november you say? where do u live? city? what an odd coincedence. im sorry for your health problems. 1how do u know what u have, did u go to DR? if so what do they say? Im thinking my issues could maybe be related to Rx pills i was taken. no they werent mine. i just stopped so we'll see if that changes things. so far not. im lo0sing more hair[can u believe it] thats it. and as far as you, im saying your 4th of july this year will be a good one. unless you sabatoge yourself mentally. DONT DO IT> POSITIVE thinking is what you need to continue doing for yourself.
no problem! I had a similar problem, it started with a weird week-long headache in the last week of November and a bit of diarrhea. No symptoms of flu whatsoever it was the last thing on my mind I thought of food intoxication. it triggered neuropathy, partial paralysis, it's still going on.
You should at least have your eyes checked to confirm the suspect of Oftalmoplegia that goes along with Romberg's test positivity. Like I said it should regress spontaneously but it could take a long time. Not sure but I can't rule out the possibility that if not treated it could progress and leave permanent neural lesions.
im sure that i had nothing. never had broc, pneom, asthma,. well, whatever it is or isnt, i hope it stopes b4 i lose all my hair. thanks for taking the time and share your thoughts. i appreciate it.
are you sure you didn't have any running nose, sort of cold/allergy symptom, mild bronchitis, sinusitis.
it's not normal to have a bit of wobble with Romberg's test.
nothing to do with vitamin deficiency, food deficiencies are rare and severe conditions.
I don't know if it was from something you ate but I think that you're having a auto-immune reaction to some infection. maybe some sort of a flu...
practically it has to do with the myelin in your spinal cord.
your symptoms resemble Guillain-Barré or Miller-Fisher syndrome.
I think that your sight went down a bit because of Oftalmoplegia which goes along with positivity to Romberg test in Miller-Fisher. normally it regresses spontaneously after some weeks/months. the progression is eyes-arms-heart-lungs, difficulty swallowing. the other variant is legs-arms-heart-lungs, the borders of these syndromes aren't completely defined.
there is no therapy except for Plasmapherensis. like I said it should regress spontaneously. in some cases the acute phase can hit the heart too bad, lower the heart beat rate and respiration. if the bpm goes below 60 you need o start worrying.
to have further confirmation you should have Spinal tap I think I'm not sure.
blood tests in search of indirect signs of infection, liver enzims, complement fixation, serology, hematology.
any ways try to stay at rest and avoid contact with further infections your immune system is aggravated by something.
statistically these syndromes are more frequent after infections with bacteria, escherichia coli, swine flu, recently even H1N1
so i cant always get to the computer. gotta do yard work, home improvement, etc.. yea the menapause, LOL. reaching you know.! no there was no diarrhea. nothing. the eye sight thing - ive always worn glasses. doc says at 40 ,thats when reading ,and small stuff start becoming harder. sooooooooo, i now have to get bi-focals. ugh, talk about age slapping you in the face. reality check;;; im getting old[er]. i tried the romberg test.a tiny bit of wooble w/ feet 2gether. arms stayed even w/ eyes closed. what cha think bout possible poison type injestion? like to much vit. b. a, c, e, multi.?
menopause? your profile says you're male!
I suspect that it started with that headache, it could be something you did, something you came in contact with in the days preceding the headache.
did you remember having some freak diarrhea around those days too?
also the hair loss is compatible with an immune reaction.
are you saying you lost a bit of your sight?
I suspect that some infection, maybe a flu, triggered a specific syndrome in you, an immune reaction.
If your sight has decreased a bit or vision is a bit blurry try to do this test, it's called Romberg test: stand up straight with your feet joined together perfectly, toe to toe, lean your arms forward then close your eyes, if you can't stand still you're positive. look up "Romberg test" on Youtube please maybe I couldn't explain myself well enough.
i had a bad headache. besides that i was fine thenthe swelling began. first phase;ring toe on each toe. looked exactly like "sausage toe" 2nd phase was both hands. along with the swelling they would sudenly turn way red. at night they were worse. when i was up mand active then they would go down. then i began to lose my hair. approx what i would lose in 3 days, im losing every day. up to present w/ that. phase 3 the feet. im 45 and in fab shape.! .... i think it was aug. or sept. when i quit drinking. that was not intentional, but i saw how fast i was losing weight after 2-3wks. so i just kept going w/ it. my fingernails dont grow to fast anymore either. and i foun out i neede bi-focals. maybe im just fixin to hit menapause or something. i used to get migrains a while back but not serious for about 5-6yrs
right you do have neurological symptoms.
no it's not a pinched nerve but maybe something else to do with the central nervous system that caused Peripheral Neuropathy and swelling. I'm not sure whether Neuropathy is enough to cause swelling, it could be due to something affecting the kidneys maybe like an inflammation.
why did you take Aleve in the first place? did you feel sick? this makes me suppose that the problem might have begun just before you took Aleve but only on Thanksgiving you noticed the symptoms.
it started believe it or not,on Thanksgiving day.i think it was the day before that i took 2 aleve. i had taken thnem in the past, and had no problem. ive never had this problem before and yas it was sudden. i have no pain, but lately my left shoulder to fingers, and hip toknee cap will get a weird tingly feeling. feels like its running up and down the bone. weird. i think thats a pinched nerve ???!!!!
there was a british girl with swollen hands a few posts down, she thought it was thyroid.
water retention also causes swelling in extremities.
do you have other symptoms? Neurological symptoms? coordination, balance, headache, lethargy?
when did it start exactly? was it sudden, did you have anything like that before?
