swollen right tonsil and under tongue

Hi all,
I have had a swollen right tonsil for almost 6 years. It has graduated to giving me a sore throat once every week or so. I ignored it until recently when I started having pain in my ears and neck. Upon further observation, I noticed the glands under my tongue on the same side are swollen too. I have been on Levaquin for 8 days and had the discomfort in my ears and the (not uncomfortable) swelling of both for almost 4 weeks now. The antibiotic has controlled the intense pain, but I can tell it is still there. Originally I thought it was maybe tonsillitis but when I look at all my different health issues that are chronic and those that are past and present, I wonder if I may have non hodgkins lymphoma. Of note, I do have endometriosis. "They say" Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma is one of the four issues people with endo eventually have or get. I asked the bozo's at the Dr. office to refer me to an ENT person, but they said it could be 5-6 months. Clearly, my swollen glands and ear discomfort are no emergency today, but if I have lymphoma or cancer and/or have had it for a long time, how long should I wait?
My question is, when do I go where and should I be worried? It is pretty clear to me ( I think), that if one or especially two nodes are swollen next to each other, and one has been for 7 years, doesn't that mean something is wrong in that area of the body?
Helpless.....

I've got a question concerning the tonsils, also. I've checked through a lot of the archives, and I couldn't find these symptons specifically, so I hope this is not redundant.

Right now, the back of my mouth, under my tongue, my (what I'm guessing are) lymph nodes (just under the jaw) are all swollen. All of this came about very quickly, about two days ago. Before that, I was perfectly fine, and I've never had any of these tonsil/swollen neck issues before. It's very painful to swallow, and sometimes a little hard to breath. I'm having a hard time talking normally.

The lymph node under the jaw has ballooned fairly quickly and is extremely painful. I'm wondering if there is a possibility it will get even bigger? It feels fluid-y, not rock hard or anything. The size is quite noticeable visually. Very large difference from two days ago. I don't know if I have a fever, I don't have any thermometers around. I have been extremely tired, but haven't been able to get a full nights sleep since this onset.

I'm 24, my wisdom teeth are impacted and horizontal (I read somewhere on this board that possible teeth issues can affect the nodes just below, so that could be a culprit?). I've got hypothyroidism also, but I have not been on that medication for a long while now. I don't believe it to be a goiter because of the placement/symptoms.

I don't have much money now for a doctor's visit (no insurance), so I guess I'm in search of just how severe this might be. And if it's a storm that can be weathered without expensive medical help.

I would go get this checked out by an ENT. I would also tell him your symptoms. It sounds like it is a possibility and I am not trying to scare you. Please get to the doctor. Your neck may have swollen lymph nodes in it and this is why it is painful. A CT scan would tell this. I am so sorry you are going through this. It makes sense about the body working on one issue and not being able to focus on the immune system to fight disease. How complex we are. Please let me know how you do.

night sweats come and go in bunches of weeks. Sometimes I have none at all, other times I go for a month getting them 3-4 times weekly. Fever is one thing I haven't had. Weight loss was a huge issue last year, I have learned to manage it, but other issues that make eating right hard too. Itching comes and goes and I usually blame it what ever I can figure, like my not too hot showers are too hot or whatever.
I read in a huge fat book about Endometriosis that the four most common issues people with endo have are melanomas, breast cancer, ovarian cancer and non hodgkins Lymphoma. Its not that endo causes it, it is that the body is busy trying to deal with the chronic issues of endo, thus altering the natural balance of blood works, ect. I definitely am no doctor, but it has been mentioned in many places that endo leads to a higher risk of these four. Also, 1/3 of these cancers present with a metastatic tumor in the tonsil, throat, tear gland, gastrointestinal tract, bones, skin or central nervous system.

I have never heard that endometrosis causes NHL. Where did you hear this?
If you are worried you may have this do you also have severe night sweats, fever, unintentional weight loss, itching?
