tired of being "sick" ...

Hi, everyone.

Well .. for  a while now (basically a couple years) I haven't been feeling great. Exhausted, getting really bad headaches the last few weeks, sometimes ice cold, pain behind ribs in front and right side in back, and rashes ...

Any ways, Lymphoma is ruled out, just got the test back yesterday.

But this morning when I woke up? The lymph node in my throat seems to have grown some making it a bit hard to swallow. Not bad, enough to notice a difference.

You know how when you get really really bad sore throat and you can't swallow much? It's like that .. but mostly just on the left side (I have more lymph nodes on the left rather than the right).

So .. .I guess I just have no idea. I do have a doc's. appointment Monday to see what the next step is but I'm anxiously waiting. LOL.

Hey there, thanks for the welcome and for the response. :) However, from the symptoms I have and from talking to the doc's and all, I really don't feel it's mono or EBV. Esp. since there's unfortunately no way I could get mono LOL ...

Ah, well. I'll be finding out more shortly when I go to my appointment. 1:45 can't come soon enough. :(

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Swollen nodes in the neck with sore throat can be due to EBV or infectious mono-nucleosis and hence this test should be done. Allergic sore throat is another possibility.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
