torn liagment

my daughter is 12 she had a accident with a child gokart 3 years ago she hurt her ankle she was exrayed but nothing was broken.we have been going to the doctors for the last 3 years as she is still in lot of pain in her ankle, she tells me it feels like it pops and locks after a short while it clicks back but then for the next 3 days she cant walk .I have took her back to the doctors but they keep telling me its a sprain.she is of her for 3 days then it seems to write itself. We still have the same promblem 3 years later i took her to see another doctor and they now tell me her liagment is torn and because it has been so long they cant do anything about it.At this point my daughter has not walked for 4 days and is taking pain killers all the time she even wakes in the night in pain

That is a drag!  I think they can fix it surgically, but it will take a considerable amount more surgury to repair it now if it's been 3 years.  They'll have to debride (cut away the scab material) and reattach it - it will also take months of recovery for her.  She should have it looked at by an orthopedic surgeon - not a regular GP - did the sprained advice come from your regular family doctor? - he/she has not been on his/her toes if he/she had not suggested this 2 1/2 years ago!!

You might research out orthopedic specialists who are the best and try for a second opinion?  I imagine some who are the best are the ones the sports stars go to for help.
