two hard knots

I have 2 very close together hard knots behind my left ear for almost 2 months. sometimes I cant hear out of that ear at all. my scalp is very tender especially around that area. Started getting more frequent headaches. I have not been sick in awhile not even with allergies, At first I thought is lymph glands. But it is not resolving. Any ideas guys. no insur...

go to doc.  2 months is too long.  middle ear infection can spread through the mastoid bone to the brain.  you do not need an infection in your brain...  you  need some antibiotics, it will not go away by itself if you do indeed need antibiotics.

I don't know how you can avoid seeing an ENT.
There's a possibility that there's an underlying infection like a middle ear infection which spread to the mastoid bone causing these knots/lumps, which infection could spread even further.
Other possibilities include abscesses from infected cysts(started as swollen hair follicles) and swollen lymph nodes, benign or malignant growths and dermatitis.
I can't suggest any DIY treatment, since the nature of these lumps is unknown.
It's tough not having insurance, but suffering this for almost 2 months,
means that you may have to see a doctor, specially in light of the increased frequency of your headaches and of course the other unresolved symptoms.
